Get Involved

While Chiara House is several months away from opening, with our building still facing a fair amount of renovations and repairs, we are seeking people who are willing to participate in making this new missional initiative possible.  There are several ways you can be involved:

• Intentional Community: If you are interested in sharing life as a full-time covenant member of Chiara House, we encourage you to read through the Chiara House Rule & Rhythm of Life before contacting us.  After reading through this material and praying about your participation, we invite you to contact us about the application process.  If you are interested in short-term involvement as a student resident, intern or non-residential member, contact us with your questions.  There will also be internships available for shorter periods of time (coming soon).
• Financial: In order to purchase and renovate the building to make such a community possible, we need your help raising funds.  In this kind of project, there is no such thing as a small donation.  If you would like to give, either as a one time gift or as a regular contributor, please contact us for more information.  All financial gifts over $10 are tax deductible.  We are also looking for investors who are interested in supporting the ministry with larger donations ($10,000+) and/or functioning as part of a non-profit group that will help facilitate the building ownership and management.  Such donors are invited to contact  Norm Voth, Director of Evangelism & Service Ministries, Mennonite Church Manitoba by email at nvoth@mennochurch.mb.ca or by phone at (204) 896-1616.
• Volunteers: In order to get such a project off the ground, we will be looking for individuals and groups willing to volunteer their time and energy into the process.  We see this initiative as an exciting service project for people to get involved with, through clean up, painting, moving furniture or much more.  If you and/or your church, youth group, etc. are interested in volunteering, please contact us.
• Prayer: Above all, we need people who believe in what we are trying to accomplish and are willing to commit to regularly praying for our community, the ministry and the residents, both long and short term.  We are working on establishing a prayer coordinator who will network with you, providing you with regular information and updates.  If you have any questions or would like to be placed on a waiting list for these prayer updates, please contact us and let us know.
